Carlito's Way (1993)

An inversion of "Scarface". Same director, same lead role. Pacino plays Carlito, an ex-wise-guy (though not Italian) who wants to go straight after can-time. Nice plot. I thought dramatism was kept at a perfect level. Just two hits, but the one in Grand Central was pretty cool! Sean Penn did a great job too.

Once Upon A Time In America (1984)

Most definitely my favorite mob movie, despite of the dramatism, gandeur. Awesome casting and probably the best music in mob films Ive seen. That pipe theme "Cockeye" keeps playing through the film is just so haunting. I also like the way the story is set in three different eras. 'Course I like the 1920s era the best. All the kid roles were played to perfection. I love the part where young Patsy ends up eating the pastry he gets for Peggy. David 'Noodles' Aaronson (Bobby D) and Maximilian 'Max' Bercovicz (James Woods) are brilliantly written characters with a fabulous dynamic between them. There's not a lot of hits in this movie. But the scams are nicely written. Cannot describe this movie accurately with words. "Great movie!!" is all I can say.

Brilliant movie!! Amazing concept and shot to perfection. Love Aronofsky's work here. Well formed score, well formed story and most of all, excellent cast and brilliant angles through the movie. Reminded me so much of Stanley Kubrick!! Love this movie!!!!

Saw 'Dasvidaniya' yesterday. Nice story, great acting by all actors, especially Vinay Pathak in the lead role. Pleasant change after all the crappy movies Ive been watching lately!

Saw "The Sentinel" last night. Nice movie. Another one of those typical Hollywood thrillers. Good job by Keifer.
